Access Point Name (APN) - w sieci GSM termin ten oznacza nazwę serwera, który obsługuje transmisję danych.

Wpisanie przez użytkownika nazwy punktu dostępu (APN) jest niezbędne do korzystania z takich usług jak WAP lub GPRS. W telefonach zakupionych u operatorów APN jest już zwykle zapisana w pamięci aparatu i nie ma potrzeby jej wpisywania.

APN (Access Point Name) в терминологии GPRS — символическое название точки доступа, через которую пользователь может иметь доступ к запрошенного типа услуге (WAP, Internet, MMS).

В процессе активации PDP контекста GGSN определяет IP адрес точки доступа, с которой будет вестись работа, посылая запрос с заданным APN к DNS серверу.
